She has been a section cellist in the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra and numerous university and local orchestras. In 2011 she won the Willmar Area Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition and was featured in concert playing Bruch’s Kol Nidrei. Appearances at summer festivals have included the Scotia Festival of Music (Halifax, NS) and Hot Springs Music Festival (AR).
Proehl Duo
Abigail and Blake Proehl have been performing together since 2011. In the past few years, they have formally established their cello-piano duo and done small tours in their native Minnesota and South Dakota. After both studying early music in The Netherlands, they now have begun to specialize in period performance focusing in the early 19th Century. Abigail plays a Bohemian cello from ca. 1800; Blake, a Weimes piano from 1818 (restored by Jürgen Ammer).
Concordant Trio
The Concordant Trio began in 2019 and is based in The Hague, Netherlands. They specialize in works from the late Classical and early Romantic eras. Recently the trio appeared in a masterclass with Clive Brown at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
